"If we can’t get this fixed, you’ve got to fire us all. I’m serious."

Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.), speaking to a women’s group in Virginia over the weekend.

Warner was a member of the “Gang of Six" that was a sort of original supercommittee - a bipartisan group that promulgated $3.7 trillion in savings over the next decade but couldn’t find any traction during the summer’s debt ceiling negotiations.

Presently, the odds-on favorite is “fire us all” over “get this fixed” by a not-insignificant margin after the debt supercommittee’s all-but-announced demise.
